American Medical Response (AMR) has agreed to a multiyear partnership with INDYCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that will see the national leader in emergency medical transport lend its name and support to the Verizon IndyCar Series and Mazda Road to Indy’s traveling safety fleet.
After losing title sponsorship from Holmatro and taking on the name INDYCAR Safety Team, the group of nearly 30 physicians, nurses, paramedics and firefighters/EMTs who average 20 years of experience will now work under the AMR INDYCAR Safety Team moniker.
AMR provides medical support for thousands of events across the United States, including inaugurations, NFL and MLB games and more. The INDYCAR Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500 and Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard will benefit from AMR’s support and its new role as the official ambulance provider at IMS.
“With our focus on safety and experience providing onsite medical responses at numerous sports venues, there is a natural fit for us to sponsor the safety team,” stated AMR President and CEO Ted Van Horne.
AMR’s logos and red, white and blue colors will be featured on the safety team’s fire suits, trucks and transporter, beginning with this weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
