After bringing a pair of Acura NSX GT3s to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Meyer Shank Racing will repeat the feat at this weekend’s 100-minute Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Detroit’s Raceway at Belle Isle Park.

Having just worked with AutoNation at the Indianapolis 500 with the team’s Verizon IndyCar Series program, the sponsor will be extending its support of the team to its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship effort.

AutoNation branding will be carried on the full-season No. 93 Acura driven by Lawson Aschenbach and Justin Marks as well as the part-time No. 86 car that was originally slated to focus on the four Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup events.

Driver Katherine Legge, who in 2017 delivered MSR’s first Acura victory with a win at Detroit, will pair with Mario Farnbacher in the second car. Her regular co-driver Alvaro Parente will not be in attendance due to a racing conflict.

In addition to operating over 300 sales and service locations with 26,000 employees, AutoNation also promotes its “Drive Pink” campaign dedicated to raising money for cancer research. Since 2013, the company has contributed more than $14 million to related causes.

The fifth round of the 2018 WeatherTech Championship season is set go green Saturday, June 2 at 12:40 p.m. EDT with practice and qualifying scheduled for Friday, June 1.
